These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of championhershot.com and your Champion Her Shot membership. By creating an account, subscribing, or entering a contest, you agree to them.
Contests are additionally governed by the Official Rules. Where the Official Rules and these Terms disagree about a contest, the Official Rules control.
1. Who we are
Champion Her Shot (“CHS”, “we”, “us”) operates championhershot.com, a membership community and contest platform for women sports photographers. You can reach us at hey@championhershot.com.
2. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us and for activity that happens under your account.
We do not use passwords. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email address, which means access to your account is access to your email. Keep your email secure and tell us promptly at hey@championhershot.com if you believe someone else has used your account.
3. Membership and billing
Membership is an annual subscription of $72 per year. Founding members receive a one-time $12 discount, making the first year $60. The discount applies to the first annual invoice only; the subscription renews at the full $72 per year unless cancelled.
Membership renews automatically each year using the payment method on file. We charge through Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
You may cancel at any time from your member dashboard. Cancellation stops the next renewal and your membership stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not provide prorated refunds for partial periods.
We will send you a renewal reminder by email 30–60 days before the applicable cancellation deadline. The reminder will state the renewal date and annual membership price and will include instructions for managing or cancelling your membership from your member dashboard.
If a renewal payment fails, we may retry it and may suspend membership benefits, including directory visibility, until payment succeeds.
We may change membership pricing. If we do, we will give you notice before a change affects your renewal, and the new price will not apply to a period you have already paid for.
4. Contest entries and fees
Contest participation is included as a benefit of membership.
Entering a contest means you accept the Official Rules, which cover authorship, ownership, model and publicity rights, image integrity and artificial intelligence, judging, prizes, and disqualification.
5. Your work stays yours
You keep the copyright in every photograph you submit. You grant us the limited license described in the Official Rules so that we can run the contest and promote it and you — for example, showing your winning image in a contest gallery, a collection page, or an announcement email.
We do not sell your photographs, and we do not license them to third parties for their own commercial use.
6. Your profile and the photographer directory
Members can publish a profile in our photographer directory so that editors, agencies, and hiring managers can find them. You choose whether your profile is visible, and you can hide it or change it at any time.
Anything you put on your profile — images, bio, availability, contact preferences, links — is content you are responsible for. Do not publish work you do not have the rights to, and do not publish personal information about other people without their permission.
The directory is for genuine hiring and editorial discovery. Scraping it, harvesting member contact details, or using it to send bulk unsolicited messages is not permitted. Access to the directory does not grant any right to reproduce, download, compile, republish, sell, license or create a database from member profiles or photographs.
7. Acceptable use
Do not use CHS to break the law, infringe someone’s rights, harass or impersonate anyone, upload malware, probe or disrupt our systems, or misrepresent authorship of an image. We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that do.
8. Our content
The CHS name, logo, site design, written copy, and software are ours or our licensors’. These Terms do not give you a license to use them beyond using the site as intended.
9. Suspension and termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate an account for a serious or repeated breach of these Terms or the Official Rules, or where we are required to by law. If we terminate your membership without cause, we will refund the unused portion of your current period. If we terminate your membership for a serious or repeated violation of these Terms or the Official Rules, you will not be entitled to a refund except where required by law.
Closing your account does not automatically withdraw an entry from a contest already being judged, and does not affect a result already published.
10. Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep CHS available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. If we discontinue something you have paid for, we will give you a fair refund of the unused portion.
11. Disclaimers
CHS is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise that membership or directory visibility will result in work, commissions, or income.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or lost opportunities. Our total liability arising out of or relating to CHS is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
13. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless CHS and its officers, directors, employees and agents from third-party claims, damages, liabilities, costs and reasonable attorneys’ fees arising from content you submit or publish, your violation of these Terms or the Official Rules, or your infringement or violation of another person’s intellectual property, privacy, publicity or other rights.
14. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on CHS infringes your copyright, write to hey@championhershot.com with the work concerned, the location of the material, your contact details, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized. We remove infringing material and terminate repeat infringers.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. When we make a material change we will update the date at the top and, for changes that affect your membership or your rights in your work, notify members by email. Continuing to use CHS after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia and applicable federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any legal action arising from these Terms shall be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction located in Georgia. Nothing in this section eliminates any consumer or other legal right that cannot lawfully be waived.
17. Miscellaneous
If a provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with the Official Rules and the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between us about CHS.
